Every Saturday this hockey activity takes place for people with disabilities. Very sporty alike sociable! Your help is needed for the guidance of the adults and children in electronic wheel chairs at the games and during the day.

Location: Sporthal Gaasperdam, Ravenswaaipad 5, Amsterdam Zuid-Oost
NB: take metro which is bound to Gein, get out at Reigersbos-stop and walk in the direction of the library.
Please wear gym shoes for in the sports hall.

Groceries for the Food Bank

The Food Bank organizes a collection day at a local supermarket. You'll hand out grocery lists and ask customers to pick up one or two things extra for the Food Bank.

Project: Postzegelpark!

A 'postzegelpark' (stamp-park) is a small square in the neighbourhood that is transformized to a nice and enjoyable place for the residents that live close by. Your help is needed today to finalize this specific park! You will plant all kinds of plants and herbs. Somebody with knowledge of gardening will be present.

Location: on the corner of the Kramatweg and the Valentijnkade in the Indische Buurt.
NB: wear old clothes that can get dirty. And bring something to rest your knee on while bending to the ground.
At arriving, ask for Nils.

NDSM Children's workplace

The NDSM-Kinderatelier is a place where children can come to develop their creativity, working alongside each other and with real artists. You'll help preparing and cleaning up and help guide the children as much as you can.

Where: NDSM werf, Neveritaweg 15, Amsterdam Noord

Attention: This location can be hard to find. Take the ferry from Central Station to the NDSM werf. Going from there take the first street to the right. Built into the huge blue door on your left is a smaller door, which forms the entrance to the 'Kunststad'.

Monday night is game night at verpleeghuis Slotervaart. The residents, some of whom have dementia, come here to play shuffleboard or some other game. You'll help and support them and have a nice chat.

Please note that not all the residents will be able to speak English very well. They very much enjoy your company though, so if you think you're able to bridge the language gap please do sign up.

Packing food packages

The food bank provides food packages for more than 1100 families in need on a weekly basis. They could sure use a hand packing all the crates.

Where: Oostenburgermiddenstraat 150, Amsterdam. 2. The entrance is not signposted and is around the corner of the building, next to the car park. You enter through the blue door next to the large roller door.

Wear warm, casual clothes as this is a warehouse environment and be aware that this activity may involve some lifting of heavy items.
